4.27.10

4/27/10
4:40 p.m.

So we are now in Wells, ME. We left the farm, could not handle it. We did the irresponsible thing of just taking off...

I did tell the boss in the morning that I could not handle it, but she wanted us to stick around until the afternoon. We ended up just leaving a note. We had packed and Sadie was itching just to get in the car, since she observed our packing and abruptness to leave this stuff behind. It was just easier to go.

We left Whitefield and headed to Damariscotta to return DVDs and books we had been using from there. During our ride to Damariscotta the song "Going to the Country..." by Canned Heat played again on the radio. Coincidence? I couldn't really say.

After dropping stuff off we drove south down Route 1 heading towards Grammy Perkins' house. This is Eric's paternal grandmother. On the way, we passed through Wiscassett, Bath, and Brunswick. All stunning little towns. Finally, we got to Portland, then Biddeford and finally Wells.

At this point I knew I had to change the name of the blog so here is the new name: MAINE DAYS WITH SADIE OWL AND PABLO HAYES.

Arriving in Wells, we were greeted by Eric's grandfather, Aunt Linda and Aunt BEvy. We had decided en route that we would crash there and start looking for an apartment and jobs in Portland, ME.

One adventure is over, but now for another. Tomorrow+ looking at five apartments in Portland. No regrets, just keep passing by open windows.
